An Inconvenient Truth

This documentary made me realize how careless we have become when it comes to taking care of earth. We seem to think that simply because earth is so big we don't have to worry about anything ever happening to it but that's wrong. In these past years studies have graphically shown how badly humans have affected the earth. One thing that I found interesting from the documentary was how miners would go into a coal mine with a canary. They used the bird to help determine whether the air was healthy enough for humans to take in. Under bad circumstances, the bird would die and only then would humans know conditions were bad. This bird was very useful since it is much more sensitive than humans; however, it seems wrong to risk bird's lives. Another big factor is population. There has been an exaggerated amount of growth in population in comparison to 50 years ago. With so many people the food demand is being pushed to its limits and one day there might just not be enough.
