My Anti-Drug

My anti-drugs include all my hobbies. Whenever I feel stressed or angry or sad I can rely on doing any of these activities and I will feel relieved. Music is one of my anti- drugs. There is music for any one of my moods. It helps me get my mind off of the things that I don't want to think about. Baking is also an anti drug because I enjoy doing it. its relaxing because I let my mind be free and express itself when I decorate. The biggest of all my anti-drugs is playing volleyball. whenever I play I forget about everything and only think of my sport. Playing volleyball makes me happy and after I spend time playing I can go back to my life.

An Inconvenient Truth

This documentary made me realize how careless we have become when it comes to taking care of earth. We seem to think that simply because earth is so big we don't have to worry about anything ever happening to it but that's wrong. In these past years studies have graphically shown how badly humans have affected the earth. One thing that I found interesting from the documentary was how miners would go into a coal mine with a canary. They used the bird to help determine whether the air was healthy enough for humans to take in. Under bad circumstances, the bird would die and only then would humans know conditions were bad. This bird was very useful since it is much more sensitive than humans; however, it seems wrong to risk bird's lives. Another big factor is population. There has been an exaggerated amount of growth in population in comparison to 50 years ago. With so many people the food demand is being pushed to its limits and one day there might just not be enough.
