My Review of the Elephant Man

The Elephant Man is a very complex movie. It has a very important lesson behind it and it helps us realize who the real animals in life are. John Merricks story is very sad and even though he was seen as a beast in the beginning we come to see how he is the purest person there is. The movie ties in many different ideas, but you have to be aware of every sound and image in order to get it. It makes the audience feel all kinds of different things. The anger and hate felt towards Bytes and the night porter for all the pain they caused him only added to the sympathy felt towards Merrick. Overall, I enjoyed watching the movie because it gets me to think about life and how I can take my state of being for granted.

My Name is John Merick

Today, I was rescued by the other freaks after Bytes put  me in the cage with the monkeys. I was very terrified with the monkeys they would not stop  making noise and  the cage was very uncomfortable; I could not sleep. When the freaks opened my cage I was very relieved. I want to go back with Dr. Treves to the hospital. I feel safe there; it feels like home. We walked through the woods all night, but I am finally resting in this boat back to London. The weather is bad but I do not want to be near anyone because they look at me funny. I came to bed and I was very uncomfortable because I didn't have my pillows like I did at the hospital, so I had to sleep on the floor. I hope that tomorrow is a better day and that I get to go home.

Welcome to my Nightmare

One time that I have been really scared is when I went on my trip to Mexico. It was my mom and my sister that were with me and we were having a great time;however, we wanted to go to an amusement park to see how different they were from the ones at home. They ran the system very differently over there but when we got in there were not many scary rides. We went around the whole park and my mom spotted a haunted house attraction in the theme park. I backed out immediately but both my sister and my mother insisted on going in. We got in line and I was scared to death. Every person that would go in would come out screaming. It was our turn to get in and when they shut the door behind us it was pitch black inside. As we began to walk there were demonic noises and banging on the walls. I began to scream and when i was walking I felt someone grab my arm I ran for the door yelling and my mom and sister followed. After that experience I am very frightened of haunted houses and I do not plan to go into them any time soon.
